There’s something about the change of season. The sense of possibility. The start of a new school year, all that hope and possibility, new books and new friends, the leaves turning, the scarves and boots and books… and did I mention the books? It’s curl-up-and-read season (although, when is it not, really?)
I’ll be honest, it’s not even autumn where I live. We’re in the first flush of spring: the daffodils, the birds a-chirping, the hayfever… but I love an autumnal read no matter what the weather’s doing! And even better if it’s a romantic comedy. All the best romcoms are autumnal. You’ve Got Mail. Legally Blonde, The Proposal, Love Actually, Two Weeks Notice, a decent chunk of Notting Hill, Hitch, Bridget Jones… the list goes on.
